Barry Field has 30 years of experience in enterprise technology and more than 10 in cybersecurity. Previously, as the leader of U.S. sales for Terremark, he transformed the company into a leader in cloud computing with revenues topping $360M. In 2013 he left Verizon to become a partner at Medina Capital, a private equity firm investing in high-growth cybersecurity software companies and a founding member of Cyxtera. Field sourced and led the acquisition of Cryptzone, a Sweden-based technology firm that was developing a breakthrough software-defined perimeter (SDP) technology and later became CEO. Field transitioned Cryptzone headquarters from Sweden to the U.S. and built out key functions including product management, marketing, operations and customer success. In 2017, Cryptzone was part of a multi-acquisition deal that formed Cyxtera, a secure infrastructure company bringing together retail colocation and security. Field became Chief Revenue Officer of Cyxtera and immersed himself into the burgeoning Zero Trust security movement. On December 31, 2019, Appgate was spun out of Cyxtera to become a standalone cybersecurity company focused on capturing market share in the Zero Trust segment and creating the industry-leading secure access solution, Appgate SDP.
